mind + body + soul
reawakening your light
through authentic connection
Sherri Huáng, MA, CCC-SLP, RMT

Welcome! I’m Sherri Huáng, the moving life force and executive director of The Holistic SLP, LLC. I’m a clairvoyant reiki master/teacher, multidimensional healer, and ASHA-certified multilingual speech and language therapist licensed in multiple states across the U.S. with 12+ years of experience supporting families and individuals across the lifespan.
I founded my practice and the collective it represents in alignment with my mission to revolutionize the traditional, clinical model of speech and language therapy. I provide high-quality speech and language services that range from relationship-based empowerment in pediatric speech/language training to heart-forward neurocognitive-linguistic rehabilitation with adults.
I pioneered the integration of a full gamut of highly developed intuitive/clairvoyant abilities and holistic, naturopathic practices (including but not limited to chakra work, biofield tuning, advanced reiki energy healing, environmental detox, sleep, nutrition, movement, and nervous system rebalancing). Most of all, I facilitate a creative harmony of the whole person and whole soul in a transformative process that honors communication ultimately as connection. In paving the way for a redefined and inclusively holistic speech and language therapy methodology, I also guide and mentor like-minded SLPs, parents, and professionals worldwide. You’re in great hands. Let’s get started.

A note about my photos
The above original Scrabble tile-themed photo is a huge hospital wall decoration from my extended travel SLP contract in Redding, California, near a spiritually and energetically powerful place known as Mount Shasta. This was a significant seven-month chapter when I experienced some of my first awakenings and flowed with synchronicities. During that time, my creativity also naturally surged and I got to revisit unfinished ideas and projects, including starting and progressing through a beautiful oil painting commission that had been sitting for years, taking on my first private pay speech therapy client, and brainstorming more clearly my vision on paper of my business, which eventually evolved into what you now see as The Holistic SLP, LLC. Words carry energy and this photo from my travels highlights the power of positivity, especially in a healing space. These particular words are also in divine alignment with what I and my business practice stand for, and that’s why I have selected them to be here to greet you.

The photo in the background of me, overlooking the valley, also comes from my travels in California. This one was captured during a different travel SLP contract, in Central California, filled with scenic drives to reach soul-nourishing weekend camping, hiking, and rock climbing with my significant other. As a highly sensitive person (HSP) and an intuitive, regularly recharging with the support of Mother Earth is important. I also have the ability to hold a lot for the families and individuals I support, so a pause into nature offers an easy aura cleanse and reset. Also, snow-capped mountains just bring me so much joy.
A note about the elements of my logo
My logo is a more refined version I painted and created from a simple one I had put together intuitively for my previous blog about my travel SLP experiences in order to guide others who were navigating the ins and outs of that world. When I was in my 20s, I thought I needed the “perfect” logo and name to come into my vision before I could be in business on my own. After relocating from my temporary home in California to New England and allowing more time to myself in meditation, another exciting yet peaceful flow of creative inspiration arrived. This time I knew and felt the symbolic significance of each element of the logo design in a much deeper way, as well as its reflection of my unique path.
The 7-petal lotus flower represents each of the main chakras aligned with the spine and is also a gentle reminder of growing radiantly through adversity, something that had always resonated with me throughout my perfectly imperfect childhood and would appear often in my artwork. It comes to me in a pink peach color with a golden outline through my visions, meditations, and my most prominent spirit guides frequently. It is the light of compassion emerging from the muddied waters and unpleasant surroundings. It is being that light for others against all odds. It is me, choosing to believe in the light within everyone’s heart, even when all others may have given up on them. It is the grounded Earth element of my practice and what I represent.

The North Star represents hope, of course, but also a symbol of my presence and my journey as a guiding light for others, whether directly or indirectly. It is the cosmic or astral element of my practice and what I represent.

The Zen circle in a calligraphy-inspired brushstroke represents the infinite circle of life and healing. It shows the elegance of a harmonious shape with the intentional opening in the circle, mirroring the imperfect yet beautiful way of the natural world. I also resonate with my circle as a symbol of how everything (and everyone) is connected through energy, while remaining open to new connections entering the circle when it’s for the highest good of all involved.
The turquoise blue color combines the blue of the throat chakra with the green of the heart chakra, emphasizing their connection in my work as both a holistic speech therapist and reiki master/teacher.
Story of
The Holistic SLP
My background
I was born and raised in a bicultural, multilingual home as a first-generation Asian-American in the Midwestern U.S. Throughout my childhood, as the eldest of four, I enjoyed observing the world around me, analyzing information, taking care of others, and being of service — ultimately to learn more deeply about our humanness. I would also easily spend hours creating “from my imagination,” sketching portraits of strangers I’d somehow see only in my mind’s eye, many of whom I’d meet decades later in life. I would effortlessly see imagery when I’d close my eyes throughout the day and regularly experience lucid dreams at night in familiar and unfamiliar languages. My interests and curiosities naturally guided me to become both a linguist and an artist, eventually connecting me with the more specialized field of speech-language pathology in the most aligned timing.
One theme that has stood out to me since childhood is the seemingly contradicting philosophies and teachings we experience when they are actually meant to harmonize: the Eastern and the Western, the holistic and the clinical, the yin and the yang, the feminine and the masculine, Ego and Spirit. Through my own journey of healing my inner balance and reclaiming my voice, I have dedicated my path to exploring and understanding the intrinsic harmony of the natural world.

My training
In 2011, I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania with my bachelor’s degree in communication science and linguistics, and in 2013, I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with my master’s degree in speech-language pathology. I then completed my clinical fellowship at a private practice clinic which primarily serviced local school districts.

In 2015, I became “The Traveling SLP” and published about my experiences, mentored fellow SLPs on transitioning into the travel speech therapy field, and practiced in a diverse range of medical and school settings across the U.S. These included acute care hospitals, subacute rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities, PreK-12 schools, and telehealth.

In 2020, I organically formed my business practice as The Holistic SLP to revolutionize the way society thinks about the medical model of healing, as well as expand more into what holistic communication training truly means — beyond the superficial, beyond the human facade or symptoms. I soon experienced how my intuitive abilities became more center-stage during sessions and family/parent counseling.
Among these highlights, I found myself intuitively seeing a child’s solar plexus chakra and I mirrored a feeling of drowning before finding out about a traumatic experience that impacted the child’s gut health and communication development. I found myself seeing the presence of individuals’ loved ones in spirit, as well as guides. Intuitive adults found this comforting and intuitive children found this validating. I would continue to meet individuals of all ages who would connect better in communication as I provided heart-centered speech and language therapy while also rebalancing their energetic bodies and healing fragmented parts on a soul level.

Around the same time these experiences unfolded, my intuition guided me to learn reiki, a specific form of energy (qi) healing work, while holding space for my loved one in distress — and ultimately to incorporate into supporting individuals and families more fully beyond the traditional, clinical model. I studied reiki intensively and became a certified reiki master/teacher in the methods of: Usui/Tibetan Reiki, Holy Fire®, and Karuna Reiki®. I also trained to deepen my clairvoyant mediumship abilities, which have allowed me to be a unique bridge for channeling and integrating the quantum or metaphysical with the human side.

My mission
With my unique journey and empowering skillset, numerous SLPs from around the world soon began contacting me for intuitive readings, practical guidance, and peer mentorship on integrating holistic practices. As a leader in defining and guiding the holistic speech therapy movement, I combine my sharp clinical skills and unmatched focus with my strong intuitive abilities, inherited from my great-grandmothers and ancestors of the Eastern world. I am here to support and nourish families and individuals across the lifespan while harmonizing the clinical with the naturopathic and serving as a beacon of light and inspiration to like-minded SLPs, parents, and professionals all around the world.

It is my great honor to support those who are guided here. I look forward to connecting with you.
